Solution number-1:

In order to solve the problem I created the head-name file, and another error came saying that it couldn't find the onto file, so then I created that file.THen again i got another error!! saying that could not read '.git/rebase-apply/onto': No such file or directory.This is my personal information which i am providing to you because of this error in git commands.For any case you are stuck with this solution or this solution is not working then i prefer you to check the below mentioned two solutions for it.

So I looked at the official git documentation for rebasing and found another command:

git rebase --quit

This will set you back on your branch with no changes,this is used to quit your rebase in gitand being able to start over again, is as good as new. This will definitely remove that problem from your git project you can just manage and start working on your project, if the above solution does not work for me suggest you see the two solutions below that will work to solve your problem. 

Solution number-2:

It looks like Git tried to remove my file i.e, the .git/rebase-merge directory but unfortunately wasn't able to remove the file completely. You should tried copying that folder away?  And also copy away the .git/rebase-apply folder if  that is present in your git project.

Solution number-3:

It could be also because a file named vim.exe process if it is running in your system's process then  killing it in Task Manager,in some of the cases in your window or mac or linux system some process will always be running when ever you turn on your computer well in that case you will definitely need to delete third party application from your computer, followed by a command below

git rebase --abort
